It's obv; the Police's diff personalities, while leading to their incredibly distinct sound & musical tension / chemistry, also inevitably led to their disbanding.
Sting for whatever reason wanted to break from that & be his own man. Understandable [whether he was right, wrong, or whatever / both]. So you see, it was the personality factor that caused it [whether Gordy's or Stew's; Andy seemed to be a "non-personality" personality ], the most requite member of the bunch.
It doesn't seem that they'll ever get together again to record & def not to tour, esp with Sting's indy success. But if his solo career were to tank [which doesn't look like anytime soon], well... but, never say never. He might have a whim. In his own mind he's prob saying, "Never," or, "if the record sales really start to dwindle & I have permanent writer's block, I can always fall back on a Police retro-reunion album &/or tour as a last resort later in life [but not TOO late, Gordon]...
Which is indeed unfortunate for we Police fans...
But you guys already knew all that.

BOTN is totally bad-a**.

I absolutely wore out my VHS copy of this. I was facinated to see how down to the wire they got in getting the material etc. ready for the show (I especially enjoyed watching Gordie's manager throwing a hissy-fit over how the wardrobe was so drab). Man, what a hot show though. Omar was smokin'!!!! as was everyone else. And Branford's humor just kept everybody loose and relaxed ("my music is a motherf*cker??!?").
I recommend this to all who are looking to unlock the secret to the productive rehearsal. It's not about having it nailed down letter perfect. It's about learning the roadmaps and feeling comfortable with the directions. Then when you actually make the trip you can relax and enjoy the drive.
On DVD now: I'll have to get two copies.

This was the link to the post, "Stewart Copeland Article" posted by Johndrum on April 16th.
I was shocked.
After you read the Hugh Padghams take on how the 3 of them got along I think our collective hope of the Police ever getting back together and making Ghost in the Machine II will dim pretty quickly.
It's sad, but true.....
Read this article for some truth.
